Title Katzie ethnographic notes/the faith of a Coast Salish Indian.
Author Suttles, Wayne
Other Author(s) Jenness, Diamond
Summary Wayne Suttles and a few peers wanted to include Diamond Jenness' "The Faith of a Coast Salish Indian" in the Anthropology in British Columbia Memoirs. However, translating all the First Nation terms left some of the meaning lost. Suttles then went back to the Katzie reserve to speak with Mr. Simon Pierre, son of Old Pierre who was Jenness' informate, to gather information regarding place names, names of natural and supernatural inhabitants and genealogy. Suttles gather much more information than what was needed, and so wrote his "Katzie Ethnographic Notes".
