Title My capain Oliver: A story of two missionaries on the British Columbia coast.
Author Scott, Robert C.
Summary "The original stimulus to the writing of this little book came from a conversation some years ago with the Rev. J.G. Brown, D.D., Principal of Union College in Vancouver, B.C. We were standing in front of St. Andrew's-Wesley Church in that city during a meeting of the Annual Conference. Captain Oliver had just come out of the building and passed by close to us. As he looked after him, Dr. Brown said: "Is the Church going to allow that man to pass away without making some record of his great service in our Marine Work?" Then he turned to me and said "Why dont' you write it?" I was at the time the missionary on the Thomas Crosby III, of which Captain Oliver was the skipper." taken from the provided preface. p. vii.
